In August of this year, I was contacted to help out with an event that is one of my favorite projects I have worked on to date. This summer, 'The Limited' partnered with the national charity "Dress for Success" and they gave away 50 makeovers to deserving women across the country to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a brand. They selected 10 women in 5 major cities across the U.S. including: Chicago, IL; Minnetonka, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Columbus, OH; & Miami, FL; to give full head to toe makeovers to.
'Dress for Success' was founded in New York City in 1997, and is a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, and a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and their personal lives. Every 'Dress for Success' client receives one suit when she has a job interview, and they can return for a second suit, or separates, once they find work. It was only natural that when 'The Limited' decided they wanted to give back in celebration of their 50 year anniversary that they would partner up with such an amazing charity. I feel truly blessed to have met each and every one of these women and to have been a part of their amazing journey in even the smallest of ways.
Here are just a few of the amazing transformations from the Miami event:
I would also like to acknowledge the rest of the amazing team that I worked with that day, my phenomenal friend, mentor, and makeup artist: Sherilyn Segal, and two absolutely amazing hair-stylists: Dominique DiBenedetto Mednick, and Sasha Revolus. Thank you to all of the amazing staff and stylists at The Limited in Dadeland. This was such an incredible experience and I hope we can all do it again sometime. :)
