Recently I had the absolute pleasure of working with the amazing cast and crew of Travel Channel's hit show, 'Airport 24/7 MIA'. The shows usual head Makeup Artist, Mercedes Porredon-Segal, had a conflict of schedule and asked me to fill in for her in her absence. What I found once I got there was a very tight knit cast and crew. Everyone who works with this series really feels like they are part of a family; and I guess that makes sense for the amount of time that they all spend together.
"Airport 24/7 MIA" is a Docu-Series, which means it's not like your typical scripted reality shows, where they can re-do the scene a thousand times to get it right, or to capture the drama exactly as they want it. This show is 100% real, and what you see is what you get. The crew is on-set at Miami International Airport literally 24/7, hoping to be there when all of the action unfolds.
During my day on-set for this production, I was lucky enough to meet 3 of the leading ladies from the series. Dickie Davis, the Director of Terminal Operations; Lauren Stover, the Director of Security; and Heidi Anthony, a Terminal Operations Senior Agent, all welcomed me into their home and allowed me a glimpse behind the scenes of what goes on daily at one of the country's busiest airports. Of course, I really can't share many of their secrets, (due to security of course!!) and because you will have to tune in Tuesdays this summer to watch their latest episodes on Travel Channel!! I promise you won't be disappointed with this series, although you may just find yourself surprised by all of the real-life drama that happens daily at Miami International.
